Surani Kwan, MBA, NP,FACHE, FAANP 

Board Chair

 

Surani Kwan works as the Executive Director of Operations for Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. Prior to that she worked for 19 years in the hospital setting as Director of Perioperative Services, Pharmacy and Environmental Services at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa. In addition, Ms. Kwan works as a nurse practitioner at the Russian River Health Clinic, a federally-qualified health clinic in Guerneville, California, where she cares for a variety of patients from healthy child checkups to end-stage AIDS from throughout Sonoma County. Ms. Kwan is the Past President of The California Association for Nurse Practitioners, CANP, the only professional organization representing Nurse Practitioners in the state of California. Ms. Kwan has a 15 year history with CANP. In the Sonoma County region she has served as President-Elect, President, Public Relations Chair and CEU Coordinator. On the state level, she has served on the Health Policy and Practice Committee, as President-elect, as Educational Conference Chairperson and as President. Ms. Kwan holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Santa Rosa Junior College and a Master of Science in Nursing and a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Sonoma State University. Additionally, she holds an MBA from SSU and is nationally certified in Family Practice. Ms. Kwan serves on a number of community-based boards focused on community health and wellness.

Goretti is a bilingual/bi-cultural strategic business partner and senior leader with over 20 years of experience in Human Resources.  Goretti has proven expertise in developing and executing Human Resources strategies from the ground up. She has successfully partnered with executive leaders in various industries and thrives in building, developing, and energizing Human Resources teams while establishing high standards in delivery and customer satisfaction.  Goretti is an alumna of Leadership Santa Rosa and was recognized by the North Bay Business Journal as one of 2014’s Forty Under 40.

        Hugo Mata  

 

Hugo was born and raised in the state of Jalisco, Mexico and immigrated to California at the age of 16.  He is fully bilingual and bicultural which provides a great asset when communicating with the Latino community living in the United States.  Hugo has a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University and has worked in public bilingual radio for more than 17 years. He established his own consulting company (Soluna Outreach Solutions) in 2017 after having worked with C2 Alternative Services for more than fifteen years. He is known in the Bay Area and beyond as an expert in environmental education for Spanish speaking audiences.

Hugo is Principal and CEO of Soluna Outreach Solutions.

     Lynne Faulks

Lynne Faulks dedicated her career to public education. Ms. Faulks started as a Special Education teacher in the Novato and Mt. Diablo Unified School Districts. In Mt. Diablo she was elected as president of the Mt. Diablo Education Association leading 2000 educators.

She began her employment with the California Teachers Association as a Political Consultant and moved on to a position as Legislative Advocate. Lynne became the Manager of Legislative Relations for CTA shaping both budget and policy for public education in Sacramento and leading the legislative team.

After leaving CTA, Lynne founded LF Consulting, a firm specializing in Legislative and Strategic Solutions and continued her work in school funding, curriculum and student assessment.

Lynne earned her BA in Psychology from UC San Diego and an MS in Union Leadership and Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She also is a proud graduate of the Harvard Trade Union Program.

Lynne has two children and four grandchildren. She and her husband relocated to Sonoma County five years ago and are enjoying life in Sebastopol.

Dr. Andrew T. McCormick is a native Californian, originally from Monterey County.  He went to UC Santa Barbara (Biological Science Degree) And USC School of Dentistry.  Dr. McCormick opened his Santa Rosa dental practice at the end of 1985. Dr. McCormick has a passion for helping families smile.  He is thrilled to serve on the PDI Surgery Center board.

Henry Trione
Board Member

 

A passion for health through education, prevention and lifestyle choices combined with the mission to give children a chance to smile again gives Henry Trione enthusiasm to serve on PDI’s board. Henry learned the value of human development while earning his Bachelor of Science in International Relations at Stanford University. A medical internship in Paris, France first piqued Henry’s interest in surgery and efficiency in healthcare. He learned the lesson that quality care can be delivered if a team is highly organized and motivated, even with limited resources and space. Henry believes in developing a health infrastructure that is unique to location, and that PDI Surgery Center helps meet this need in his native Northern California.

As Vice-President and General Manager of ChevronTexaco West Indies and General Manager of Chevron and CalTex (US & Asia) Strategic and Business Planning, Patti Wagner brings 27 years of progressive business experience to the board of PDI. She earned her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and her MBA, majoring in Marketing and Finance, from St. Mary’s College Moraga.

Katie Albright, JD

 

Katie Albright is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, a community-based organization working to prevent child abuse and reduce its devastating impact. She was the Policy Director for the San Francisco Education Fund and Co-Director of Policy and Outreach at Preschool California. She has served as Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco’s Office of the City Attorney and as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the San Francisco Unified School District. She serves on both the San Francisco University High School and San Francisco Day School’s Board of Trustees, and has been Commissioner to the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission and Board of Appeals. She is a former board member of NARAL Pro-Choice America, NARAL Pro-Choice California, and Planned Parenthood Golden Gate.

José R. Bedolla

 

The proud son of farm working parents, José Bedolla is a first generation high school graduate and a first generation college student. He has been involved in the community through various organizations promoting higher education for low income students, and particularly advocates for entrepreneurship, especially amongst minorities, women, and low income students. He has served on the Steering Committee for the Northern California Region of the California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance, a statewide organization working closely with the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund. He serves as the PR representative for MeCHA de SRJC, and additionally is a Westside 4-H President and advisor and a Camp Geneva Nunez Counselor for low income youth. An active 20-30 #205 member, Mr. Bedolla is also a volunteer with KBBF Bilingual Radio, a Co-Founder of North Bay Immigrant Youth Union, a member and Co-Founder of the Communications Honor Society for Santa Rosa Junior College, and the founder of two businesses: Empiezaventures.com and VEENO Agave Wine via Healdsburg Beverage Group, LLC. He holds an Associates Degree in Communications from Santa Rosa Junior College and is transferring to Sacramento State University to complete his undergraduate degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, minoring in Business. He intends to enter law school after graduation.

Assistant Viticulurist at Balletto Vineyards, Jacqueline serves on the Sonoma County Harvest Fair Baord, chairs the Santa Rosa Junior College AgTrust Agstravaganza live auction committee, and is treasuer for Sonoma County Farm Bureau's Young Farmers & Ranchers.

Brad Bollinger is associate publisher and editor-in-chief of North Bay Business Journal, which covers business in the counties of Sonoma, Napa and Marin.

Herman G. Hernandez

 

Herman G. Hernandez is the Communications and Development Coordinator for Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County. A second generation Latino born in Guerneville, Herman attended local public schools including Guerneville Elementary School, El Molino High School and Santa Rosa Junior College. He graduated from San Diego State University in the summer of 2011 with a Bachelor Degree in International Business Management. Herman serves as SCOE Trustee representing the 5th District and he is an active member of our Sonoma County community, dedicating himself to the success and well-being of our youth. He is currently serving as a School Board Trustee for the Sonoma County Office of Education, an Assembly Delegate for the California School Board Association, a Director on the California County Board of Education, Secretary and Co-Marketing Chair of the Elsie Allen High School Foundation. He is also Vice President of the College Tee Project, a Board Director of Restorative Resources, and is a member of Russian River Rotary Club. His vision as a newly elected Trustee for the Sonoma County Board of Education is for the County Board of Education to focus on closing the educational achievement gap; advancing programs that support career technical education; embracing technology and creating innovative programs that facilitate our students’ and teachers' success inside and outside the classroom.

Bret Martin

 

A volunteer spokesman for Bloodbank of the Redwoods and a board member of Kid Street Learning Center, Bret is the author of The Ultimate Cancer Peptalk, in collaboration with Redwood Regional Oncology's Dr. Marek Bozdech. Bret is a cancer survivor and a peace advocate with the local Islamic Society.

Susan Moore

 

President of Friends of FIGR and a board member of the Million March/Brady Campaign, Ms. Moore is a founder of several other non-profits, including Guardians of Casa, Girl by Girl, and the No Name Women’s Network. She is an affiliate of Roseland University Prep and a board member of the Southwest Clinic in Santa Rosa.

Victor Trione

 

 

Chairman of the board of directors of Luther Burbank Corporation and the Bank; President of Vimark, Inc., a real estate development and vineyard management company, and co-proprietor of Trione Winery. Mr. Trione sits on the Advisory Board – Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research; Board of Overseers, Stanford University's Hoover Institution; Trustee, Angela Merici and John Newman Foundation, Inc.; Trustee, U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, Washington, D.C.; Director, Navy Supply Corps Foundation.

Assemblymember Jim Wood, DDS

 

Since 2014, Assm. Wood has served the people in California’s 2nd Assembly District, comprising Del Norte, Trinity, Humboldt, and Mendocino counties, plus northern and coastal Sonoma County, including the northern half of Santa Rosa. He has been chair of the Assembly Health Committee since early 2016. Previously, Dr. Wood was the Vice Mayor of Healdsburg, a member of the Healdsburg Planning Commission and had a family dental practice in Cloverdale. Dr. Wood is a forensic dentistry expert consultant for five Northern California counties. He established a mass disaster identification team in California and helped pass state legislation to standardize county identification procedures, a model adopted by other states. He is called regularly to support efforts in several Northern California counties and assisted in disasters including 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the Valley Fire in Lake County and the tragic wildfires in northern California.
