Katie Albright is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, a community-based organization working to prevent child abuse and reduce its devastating impact. She was the Policy Director for the San Francisco Education Fund and Co-Director of Policy and Outreach at Preschool California. She has served as Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco’s Office of the City Attorney and as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel for the San Francisco Unified School District. She serves on both the San Francisco University High School and San Francisco Day School’s Board of Trustees, and has been Commissioner to the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission and Board of Appeals. She is a former board member of NARAL Pro-Choice America, NARAL Pro-Choice California, and Planned Parenthood Golden Gate.

José R. Bedolla

The proud son of farm working parents, José Bedolla is a first generation high school graduate and a first generation college student. He has been involved in the community through various organizations promoting higher education for low income students, and particularly advocates for entrepreneurship, especially amongst minorities, women, and low income students. He has served on the Steering Committee for the Northern California Region of the California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance, a statewide organization working closely with the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund. He serves as the PR representative for MeCHA de SRJC, and additionally is a Westside 4-H President and advisor and a Camp Geneva Nunez Counselor for low income youth. An active 20-30 #205 member, Mr. Bedolla is also a volunteer with KBBF Bilingual Radio, a Co-Founder of North Bay Immigrant Youth Union, a member and Co-Founder of the Communications Honor Society for Santa Rosa Junior College, and the founder of two businesses: Empiezaventures.com and VEENO Agave Wine via Healdsburg Beverage Group, LLC. He holds an Associates Degree in Communications from Santa Rosa Junior College and is transferring to Sacramento State University to complete his undergraduate degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, minoring in Business. He intends to enter law school after graduation.

Herman G. Hernandez is the Communications and Development Coordinator for Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County. A second generation Latino born in Guerneville, Herman attended local public schools including Guerneville Elementary School, El Molino High School and Santa Rosa Junior College. He graduated from San Diego State University in the summer of 2011 with a Bachelor Degree in International Business Management. Herman serves as SCOE Trustee representing the 5th District and he is an active member of our Sonoma County community, dedicating himself to the success and well-being of our youth. He is currently serving as a School Board Trustee for the Sonoma County Office of Education, an Assembly Delegate for the California School Board Association, a Director on the California County Board of Education, Secretary and Co-Marketing Chair of the Elsie Allen High School Foundation. He is also Vice President of the College Tee Project, a Board Director of Restorative Resources, and is a member of Russian River Rotary Club. His vision as a newly elected Trustee for the Sonoma County Board of Education is for the County Board of Education to focus on closing the educational achievement gap; advancing programs that support career technical education; embracing technology and creating innovative programs that facilitate our students’ and teachers' success inside and outside the classroom.

Assemblymember Jim Wood, DDS

Since 2014, Assm. Wood has served the people in California’s 2nd Assembly District, comprising Del Norte, Trinity, Humboldt, and Mendocino counties, plus northern and coastal Sonoma County, including the northern half of Santa Rosa. He has been chair of the Assembly Health Committee since early 2016. Previously, Dr. Wood was the Vice Mayor of Healdsburg, a member of the Healdsburg Planning Commission and had a family dental practice in Cloverdale. Dr. Wood is a forensic dentistry expert consultant for five Northern California counties. He established a mass disaster identification team in California and helped pass state legislation to standardize county identification procedures, a model adopted by other states. He is called regularly to support efforts in several Northern California counties and assisted in disasters including 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the Valley Fire in Lake County and the tragic wildfires in northern California.
